Barca are set to play the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan on Saturday and the Spanish club will be hoping to keep their eye on Lionel Messi as they prepare for their next big game.
Barcelona’s La Masia graduate is back at the Camp Nou after a four-month break with a knee injury that has left him out of action since February.
The Argentina international had a medical with the club last week but was not officially fit enough to face his former club, with the injury affecting his ability to train.
It is understood that Messi is still very much interested in returning to the Nou Camp for the match on Saturday but it is not yet clear when he will be able to return.
“We are working on the rehabilitation of his knee,” said Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde.
“It is too early to tell how much it will affect his performance.
